AISTI is sponsoring an STM Retreat this summer and are inviting you to attend to meet with your fellow Librarians from around the state to discuss the broad and complex issues you see coming toward us in the near future. What are the biggest challenges? What can we do to prepare, address, and lead into the future? At the end of the facilitated one-day meeting, we would like to have one or two areas identified that AISTI can help in addressing further. We want to know how we can help you make change. It will be interesting to see which issues bubble to the top when we bring a diverse group of professionals together to brainstorm about the future. This will also help AISTI continue to think about what our mission should be to enable innovation in libraries in coming years.

Our restructuring and re-visioning come at a time of great change for all of us in libraries and in the information industry in general. Beyond economic challenges, we are facing major shifts in the way research itself is conducted in the digital age and are seeing new imperatives for providing new kinds of library services in sometimes completely different ways from what we have traditionally done.
As Librarians in the STM areas, you are often at the leading edge of change. As an organization dedicated to innovation – from thinking to practice – AISTI wants to hear from you to help shape our future efforts.
